A Bigger Promise

Healthy futures through our small way of giving back.

We all live in the same world. In line with our sole mission to provide sound healthcare experiences to allow all to LIVE EVERY DAY, we further hope to empower the next generation of global leaders. With their hopes set high on the field of rehabilitation, these Springfield College PTs, OTs and rehab professionals of the future work tirelessly to combat health disparities abroad. SC’s founding values are enrichment of mind, body, and spirit;

AND SO ARE OURS.

Springfield College’s Physical Therapy Department started an effort to directly support 3 community based projects in Haiti, Trinidad & Tobago, and Germany via student volunteerism. Our humble effort is to support one of these future leaders. Today take away the burden of travel & expense and allow them to focus solely on the good work that awaits. It is our anticipation in doing so, they will continue to fight health disparities, spread the word of global healthcare need as compassionate healthcare providers, powerful humanitarians, and unselfish community leaders.

Applicant must be:

A Springfield College Student selected for 2017 Global Health Initiative in Haiti, Trinidad & Tobago, and/or Germany.

Applications:

The application must be submitted at least three months prior to the trip departure. There is a maximum of one scholarship per Global Health Initiative season.

The scholarship will be up to $1000 and is to be used for project and transportation-related expenses.

The applicant must submit a letter of no more than 300 words that describes their current course of education, and their motivation in serving in this Global Healthcare Initiative. We’d also like to hear from the applicant’s lighter side, what makes them LIVE EVERY DAY and how this may have prompted their interest in such important work. Two pictures are to be included with the application to showcase the applicant pursuing a passion and will be included in a summary page of applicants and finalists.

After the trip is completed, the scholar will be asked to submit a 400-500 word summary of their experience and focus on the change that took place in their own life as a result of the trip.  The scholar will also be asked to share their story with our local community during an informal community discussion on global health.

Meet the Founders

Matt & Anthony Calendrillo

I am a Physical Therapist a Board Certified Orthotist, as well a Board Certified Prosthetist. There’s not many of us out there, but LIVE EVERY DAY, allows me to be something else…Matt. This company was born of 2-like minded, and similarly looking brothers, who truly value each individual’s needs. LIVE EVERY DAY is the platform to provide the best care possible. There’s no boss looking over the shoulder, or red tape. We have one line that embodies our day to day focus, it simply reads, Two brothers on a mission. More than a medical practice a way of life.

Springfield College laid a wonderful foundation in rehabilitative services, and a spring board to my Master’s in Physical Therapy. From Springfield, I was accepted into a post graduate program at The University of Connecticut in the advanced studies of Orthotics & Prosthetics, and served as the class valedictorian. Having a unique knowledge base and a love for learning, I returned to post graduate work and received my Doctorate in Physical Therapy to both advance my clinical knowledge as well as re-enter the classroom in a Faculty role. Currently I share a mixture of experiences with the graduate Physical Therapy students, from didactic lecture to integrated clinical education. It keeps LIVE EVERY DAY on it’s toes and continues to bode wildly successful for patients. Welcome, and we look forward to getting you back to whatever you’re passionate about!

No amount of education or work experience could have properly prepared me for the excitement that is LIVE EVERY DAY.

I am the business guy here.  I earned a Finance degree from Drexel University in Philadelphia.  After putting a few years of experience under my belt, I attended Quinnipiac University for an MBA.   Starting as early as my second year of college I have worked at large corporations – Johnson & Johnson and later a large (unnamed) defense contractor.  Both experiences taught me how business works and having management roles allowed me to hone my leadership skills.

Matt and I launched LIVE EVERY DAY in our minds many many years ago.  The experience of starting the company and growing it to what it is today has taught me more than I ever learned in school.  From developing the day to day activities to the long term plans, the process of creating this company has been a business person’s dream.  I’ve enjoyed every second so far and can’t wait for what is in store for the future.  Oh, and working side by side with my brother is pretty great too!

At home, I have a wonderful wife Kate and three fantastic (my humble opinion) kids.  They are the biggest LIVE EVERY DAY fans I know.
